“Give me some sunshine, Give me some Rain, Give me Another chance, I wanna grow up once again.” The song has become quite an anthem these days. And why not..Who can ever forget those days of youthful exuberance being in School .Getting up early at 6 in the morning, getting into that neatly ironed School Uniform, Mom reminding over and over again to eat the lunch she packed, the Discipline Incharge pulling you up for having a weird hairdo or an unusual tie knot, the fights in the School Bus over the window seat, the notes of the Class Teacher on the Diary pages for not completing the homework, reading out the crap you wrote in the English Paper in front of the whole class, the nervy excitement when the teacher made you sit with the most beautiful girl in the class, the shivers that ran through every Sunday Night before the weekly Monday exam, the excursions to the Red Fort and Appu Ghar and the India Gate and the list goes on and on and on. Oh man, I wanna grow up once again.
Recollecting these old thoughts and some old photographs, found a tiny piece of paper neatly folded in my School Bag this afternoon. It was an expression of how I felt towards the most hated subject of my career. Now before letting you any further I would like to admit that the following is a work by pure chance due to a sudden outburst of emotions. Accidents like these happen once in a lifetime( usually when You have a Breakup or fail badly in an Exam.) In my case it was the latter. Aarush and I had secured something like a 4 or 5 on 30 in our History Exam in 9th standard. We had spent about an hour looking at each others sheets at my home consoling each other. And the same day we wrote this piece of folded paper….(and our English was even worse in those days and we could hardly think anything in that firangi lingo leave alone write.)So kindly bear with us……
