Wanna Grow up once again.......

“Give me some sunshine, Give me some Rain, Give me Another chance, I wanna grow up once again.” The song has become quite an anthem these days. And why not..Who can ever forget those days of youthful exuberance being in School .Getting up early at 6 in the morning, getting into that neatly ironed School Uniform, Mom reminding over and over again to eat the lunch she packed, the Discipline Incharge pulling you up for having a weird hairdo or an unusual tie knot, the fights in the School Bus over the window seat, the notes of the Class Teacher on the Diary pages for not completing the homework, reading out the crap you wrote in the English Paper in front of the whole class, the nervy excitement when the teacher made you sit with the most beautiful girl in the class, the shivers that ran through every Sunday Night before the weekly Monday exam, the excursions to the Red Fort and Appu Ghar and the India Gate and the list goes on and on and on. Oh man, I wanna grow up once again.

Recollecting these old thoughts and some old photographs, found a tiny piece of paper neatly folded in my School Bag this afternoon. It was an expression of how I felt towards the most hated subject of my career. Now before letting you any further I would like to admit that the following is a work by pure chance due to a sudden outburst of emotions. Accidents like these happen once in a lifetime( usually when You have a Breakup or fail badly in an Exam.) In my case it was the latter. Aarush and I had secured something like a 4 or 5 on 30 in our History Exam in 9th standard. We had spent about an hour looking at each others sheets at my home consoling each other. And the same day we wrote this piece of folded paper….(and our English was even worse in those days and we could hardly think anything in that firangi lingo leave alone write.)So kindly bear with us……

A Note of Thanxxxx........

“With Great Power comes Great Responsibility” nice one liner.. Actually heard it over n over again in 3 different reality shows last week(so why not use it). But let me first thank few of my friends who took the pain of reading this blog (and a special thanx to the very few who appreciated it)… So from the last two days I have been entrusted upon by some of you with the RESPONSIBILITY(sounds a big word na) to post something worthwhile.

Last nite received a mail from one of old friends… Aarush (who also had mistakenly clicked on this blog’s link in my facebook status) His first reaction---“Man,how could you,of all people, find the courage to stick your butt to a chair and type..and that too something like this.. Gud going yaar” (I doubt if this was some kinda praise or something else). Anyways the mail ended with just one more line “Maybe this attachment would help” and I noticed a doc attachment to it. Aarush had written about one of his own recent encounters with his long time girlfriend Teesha.

I initially was reluctant to post this as it belongs to someone else but then it really saves me from sticking my butt to that damn chair(and probably is something worthwhile). So here, let Aarush take you forward....

World's Toughest Puzzle-- A Girl

“Hi guys this is Aarush, and Mr. Blogger insists you know me only as one of his old friends. And before beginning lemme first inform you that neither um a damn creative person nor my grip on the lingo is that great..So for those of you looking for something exceptional, I would advice u better click on the new tab button and switch…For others like me lets begin…..

Teesha was back to Delhi after a week long holiday with her family in Manali. We had planned to meet for a movie on the weekend. We reached the DT Cinemas in Shalimar Bagh at about 12.30 It was a 1.45 show, so we had time to roam around in the mall.”You wanna try your hand at this?” Teesha asked pointing to the Air hockey Table..”Yeah sure but I don’t see any opponent here”I replied. “Oh chill,I beat Jatin(her younger brother) 7-3 in Manali.” She exclaimed. “And you seriously think You can do the same to me.”I said inserting the coin into that machine.

The small yellow disk was subjected to a harsh thrashing for the next 120 seconds(mostly by the striker in my hand and the table walls rather than Teesha’s striker). The score read 7-0..” The game ended a bit early no..”I said pointing to the 180 seconds that were still remaining on the clock..”Insert another coin dude. I will bury you this time.”pat came the reply.. The score read 4-0 in the next 80 seconds(no prizes for guessing, Teesha was being outplayed again) Suddenly a shot, and a fierce one at that, struck the table wall and then her index finger hard. The striker dropped from her hand as her cute face turned red(more so her tiny ears). I put my striker on the table and gave her hand a gentle press.”Is it still paining?” I asked. “Obviously you hit it so damn hard.”shrugging her hand off mine. I looked up at the table clock. It read 150 seconds.”Still 150 secs to go.Come on,lets see if you can catch up.” I said. “This is still hurting. No ways I’d be able to compete”She said(as if earlier she was beating the hell out of me) “Ohkay,I play with the left hand. That evens it out.”I offered. She at once took the striker and struck the disk hard. 3-1. “Hey I was yet to take position”I argued as she opened her account. “Dun cry baby.Lets play.Just 100 sec left.” She said, the excitement in her voice overriding her pain. In the next 100 seconds,Teesha scored(rather I let her score) thrice. 3-4..the final scoreline read….”I won.I won”Her voice beaming with joy..An old couple sitting at the adjacent food stall looked at her in a disgruntled manner. She was happy and I could feel it.

We moved for the movie as she held my right elbow tightly(the one she had shrugged off 150 seconds ago) I felt as if loosing the game was completely worth it.We took a large popcorn and coke as we moved into the movie hall.I noticed the same old couple sitting next to Teesha as we took our seats.. The movie was a usual bollywood romcom with the sizzling hottie hellbent on pleasing the audience with her microscopic outfits. The Audience clapped and whistled everytime the pair onscreen got cosy. I saw the old Uncle feeling uneasy and making grumpy faces noticing me and Teesha sipping coke off the same can.It made me feel a bit uneasy…(Come on dude, watch the movie. You have not paid to see us)I wanted to tell the Old man but dint.

I left Teesha’s hand and slid back the armrest between us. Teesha could see my discomfort “Excuse me Aunty, do you mind telling your better half not to intrude in other people’s personal space please” She told the old Lady in a firm yet polite voice. The Lady glanced at me as if those were my instructions (but they were not and I was probably as much shocked as them)Teesha folded back the armrest and held my hand again. The Old Couple’s usual expression dint change and they left even before the interval..(Was that because of the biology onscreen or our chemistry offscreen, I wonder??) Any which way the movie ended after a few more loud claps and whistles.
I felt as if I just escaped the Bigg Boss House….

It was 5 in the evening as I drove back wondering over the days happenings….Was Teesha really hurt by that strike?? Or was it just a gimmick so I went a little easy??? Did she realize that I lost to her on purpose???Should I tell her that straight…??? No that wont be such a smart idea...and What would the Old Couple be thinking about us..??? and who in the first place told them to come and watch this movie...Perhaps they left just cos of the biology onscreen....???”

The Same Old Story---Australia won even when they had no right to do so

Pakistan lost the just concluded Sydney test and i have no idea why m feeling so damn bad about it. I think its just human nature to support someone weak when he challenges someone accomplished head on..But that was all Pakistan did...They had their moments but just could not bang the door open when the opportunity knocked right at the doorstep....

They say bad habits don’t go away that easy. The fact was quite evident in Pakistan’s loss in this Test. Its hard enough to figure out if Australia actually won it or Pakistan simply lost it. I guess its the latter one.

But Anyways Five things that would follow this Test match:

a)The Aussies are gonna be learning Urdu on their off days (cos they cant sledge the Pakistanis in English as no one in their ranks understands English)

b)Punter Ponting will be deciding to bat everytime he wins the toss no matter if its a flat deck or a green top(i mean who wont if you could win a match even after being dismissed for a meagre 127 in the first innings)

c)Kamran Akmal(who dropped Mike Hussey 3 times in the second innings) might be spending the next few days in the bathroom hiding for mercy from his teammates.

d)Shane Watson is surely on his way towards becoming this season's Sachin Tendulkar thats because he's getting out so often in the 90's (remember Sachin missing out on about 10 tons in the same calender year)

e)Pakistan will never ever win a test match in Australia.....(unless ofcorse they play against Bangladesh or Kenya there)...
